Another trip to our favourite island of BALI will take place again in October-November. Surfing, yoga and trips around the island of Gods who is considered to be surfing paradise among surfers
Location
The first Surftrip on Bali Island took place in November and December 2012. We drove through the most beautiful places of this island and saw why Bali is nicknamed the Island of the Gods and the Surfers’ Paradise. Bali is located in the central part of the Indonesia archipelago between the islands of Java and Lombok. It is one of the smallest of thousands of inhabited islands in the area, with its southern part washed by the Indian Ocean and the northern part by the Pacific Ocean. Bali is hundreds of kilometers of beautiful sandy beaches, ideal for surfing. While traveling, you will encounter active volcanoes, mountain lakes, waterfalls, Hindu temples and Hindu culture with the ever-present scent of incense sticks. Dear and eternally smiling Balinese people who are unlike Islamic-oriented Indonesia of Hindu religion make this island one of the world’s most sought after exotic destinations. The Hindu gods play an important role in the Balinese life, and women offer them sacrifices every morning – palm leaf baskets containing a few grains of rice in addition to flowers. For party lovers, there are many interesting bars and clubs in the area around Kuta beach, where music rises in the morning. No one misses a party at Sky Garden!

Lessons take place on the beginner beaches with sandy bottom – Kuta or Hyatt hotel, which are the most suitable for the first trips. Intermediate riders will try the beaches of Balangan or Nikko Hotel, where the waves break on the coral reef but with good access to the water and the waves are pleasantly slow. Advanced can not miss GreenBall, Pandawa and Payung Payung. The choice of the beach always depends on the current conditions. FOOD
The basis of Indonesian cuisine is of course rice and lots of spices, we are in Asia. The specialties that you should be able to taste for your holiday are a lot and the best opportunity for a real “home” kitchen, you can find in one of the local dining rooms, called Warung, where for soup, food and drink, you pay about 50 CZK. It depends on the location. For example, try Nasi goreng – fried rice with vegetables and meat, sometimes with an egg. Mie goreng – the same but with noodles, Gado gado – stewed vegetables with tofu and peanut sauce, Bakso – traditional Balinese soup with meat dumplings, Sate – meat skewers served with rice and peanut sauce, Cap cay – fried vegetable mix. Another specialty is roast piglet, which is called here Babi gulag (it has nothing to do with grandma’s goulash or prison food in the gulag). Of course you must not miss fish and seafood dishes, of which there is a huge selection.
The most popular regional cuisine throughout Indonesia is the cuisine of the Sumatran city of Padang. In the canteens and restaurants, this type of cuisine is labeled as Masakan Padang, and is usually served in such a way that the individual side dishes are displayed in the restaurant and the customer chooses side dishes for the rice. This kitchen offers sharper meals than other parts of Indonesia and is richer in meat but poorer in the choice of vegetable side dishes.
Sweets make Bali flambé bananas, pancakes and rice pudding. Various tropical fruits are available throughout the year – mango, papaya, pineapple, bananas, avocados, etc.
We recommend drinking only bottled water, refilling in one bottle at the villa and not buying new PET bottles. Beer and alcohol are expensive for local conditions, prices are similar to ours. We recommend bringing your own supplies! 🙂

TRIPS
One trip awaits you each week. The first will be through the monkey forest in the artistic city of Ubud. Along the way there are rice fields and terraces. The journey continues to the mountain village of Kintamani, where the lady will have lunch with the most beautiful view of the volcano and Lake Batur. On the way back we will stop at the Tirta Ganga Water Palace, which is surrounded by coffee and cocoa plantations where we can taste local coffee, chocolate, tea and tobacco! If there is time, we will stop at the beautiful Gunung Kawi Temple, with sculptures carved in the rock.
The destination of the next trip will be the Pura Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, located on the shores of Lake Beratan, where beautiful sacred ceremonies take place. We will continue to the GitGit waterfall, where we jump into the water! On the way through beautiful rice fields and terraces we reach the Tanah Lot Temple, which lies on a cliff in the southwestern part of the island and is a frequent destination for Hindus who come here to worship the gods of the sea. At low tide it is possible to reach the temple on foot. We will also head to Uluwat at sunset one evening – a temple with a beautiful view and lots of monkeys. This sea sanctuary stands on a tall, steep cliff at the southernmost tip of Bali. The temple is inhabited by a gang of naughty monkeys, who are always ready to be fed by you while depriving you of sunglasses or a baseball cap. They do not despise a purse full of money, the exchange rate for a return is equal to a bunch of bananas. Yet seeing Uluwat in a colorful sunset is an extraordinary spectacle.
Another trip can be diving with mantas. A wonderful experience that you will experience on the island of Nusa Penida, where we reach by boat. Along the way, our guides catch fresh fish and when we finish diving, they will prepare a great picnic on the deserted beach with fresh sushi and the grilled fish they just caught. This trip is not included in the package and is payable separately.
GREEN BOOKS
The civic association Green Books promotes a sustainable way of life through reading for joy, games and activities. It aims to ensure that all Indonesian children have access to books and environmental knowledge. It publishes information materials, promotes an environmentally intelligent view of the world by organizing events, games and other activities. Above all, however, it seeks books on nature, which it then distributes to children’s libraries, and initiates the creation of new children’s community libraries and eco-centers.
Indonesia is a landscape full of unique natural treasures. On over 17,000 islands, there are active volcanoes, rainforests, coral reefs, mineral resources, as well as glaciers, areas with amazing biodiversity both below and above the surface. Every day, however, this diverse nature is confronted with the demands of a developing economy. The enormous mass of 250 million inhabitants of Indonesia without ecological awareness devastates this natural unique. And thousands of children are born daily to continue this trend.
Let’s save this paradise together!
Although Indonesia is a country far away, the ecosystem of the planet is so intertwined that the destruction of this tropical paradise affects us all. The landscape is devastated not only by the people themselves, but also by the activities of multinational corporations from which we buy products in Europe. As a result of these influences, the problem that affects us all deepens every day.
